The Value of Procrastination & the In-Between Space
Procrastination has been vilified as an impediment to productivity and even creativity. While this is true at times, I’ve found that it’s less black and white. Procrastination can in fact serve as a window to an undefined, magical “space in between” the moment we know we intend to paint and the moment we actually get started. That in-between space often gives us time to settle in, daydream and even plan, all things of real value in the artistic practice. Our in-between space may stretch or shrink depending on whatever mental, physical or emotional barriers may be in front of us, but ultimately, if we’re aware of the in-between space and use it, it can help spark inspiration. In this video, I’ll talk about the “in-between space” and explain how it can benefit you to value procrastination as a part of the artistic process.
